Christopher Bailey, Creative Director of Burberry Prorsum was the toast of London Fashion Week. Every season he continues to evolve the brand from their beginnings as just a label known for a simple check pattern. For Spring 2014, Bailey was inspired by the English Rose, as always his designs are not always sweet there was also a touch of erotica with lace used throughout the collection.

Burberry’s a different type of label and in this collection the use of pastel colors including mint green, pale yellow, lavender, pink, mauve, blue, khaki, black, mocha and grey.  Along with these very light hues were the use of embroidery on lace skirts that looked like the work was completed by hand in India. These skirts were absolutely stunning showstoppers.

Bailey also paired lace dresses, skirt suits with bold sashes, solid knit cardigans and florescent sandals. There was a provocative nature to the lace as many of the runway looks were see-through. Polka dots and stripes were paired together in different colors that made an ultimate fashion faux pas and faux oui! Who knew the usage of two bold patterns could work but they did! Polka dots and stripes were seen during the fall 2013 collection last February.

Burberry Prorsum is also a runway show to watch out for because Bailey casts only top models and the big up and comers for show.  Top runway stars Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell, Jourdan Dunn, Liu Wen, and Catherine McNeil along raising stars Malaika Firth and Elisabeth Erm made Bailey’s designs come to life.
