Henry Holland, a British designer who is not afraid of taking a fashion risk, designs the growing label, House of Holland. His Spring 2014 collection merged the themes of Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 Romeo + Juliet movie starring Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCapro with chola girl gangs of Mexico City.
These two themes offered a romantic tough look for spring and summer. The softness of lace and floral details with the boldness of metallic hues on shoes, belts, jackets, and trim on dresses and trench coats. There were also religious graphics on sweatshirts and t-shirts of the Virgin Mary and crosses with hearts. How could someone become a member of Holland’s gang of highly sophisticated ladies? These models were definitely a gang of edgy chic ladies who understood the meeting of Holland’s mission of the collection.
The runway the models walked down featured purple clouds with pink floral accents.
The model’s hair was sleek in the front with glamorous waves in the back. The makeup was bold and featured thick eyebrows and bright lips.
