Sass & Bide Fall 2013 Collection

Sass & Bide might not be fashion label you have ever heard but I have been following Australian designers Sarah-Jane Clarke (Sass) and Heidi Middleton (Bide)’s rise in fashion since they appeared on America’s Next Top Model during the Cycle 8 Finale in Sydney. According to their website their clothing line “is dedicated to the strong, the obsecure & the beautiful.” (http://www.sassandbide.com/the-story/)

The design duo started the label as a denim line in 1999 and two years later they shot to fame in Australia and New Zealand. They have now taken on London Fashion Week for the 5th time in three years. Moving their show from Sydney to London allows for the line to get more global appeal, however at core you can still see an young edgy woman who has her Aussie roots still in tack.

The Fall 2013 Collection was entitled Wintergate. There were classic black and metallic silver piece with shots of bold yellow. The opening look was a metallic chevron patterned blazer with a pair of wide leg yellow trousers was such a strong choice. Other looks included dresses of various length adding some needed glamour along with corsets and strapless tops with skirts. The shoes designed were a pointed yellow patent leather heels and other architectural grey shoes. My favorite look was the 8th look which was a floor length metallic silver dress that looked like Sass & Bide poured liquid silver onto the model’s body. Such a red carpet look any person would be named “Best Dressed” in.
