Paris Couture Week Starts with Atelier Versace!

Donatella Versace’s Spring 2013 Atelier Versace collection reminded me about why Versace is the brand you go to for glamorous, sexy, fierce party clothes. Versace casted 90’s supermodels Kristen McMenamy and Stella Tennant who opened and closed the show. This season Versace designed a 27 look couture collection featuring sequined metallic pinstripe suits, cutout dresses with fur details, layered skirts with gold and black fabrics, belted jackets with the infamous Versace “Medusa” head. Color was seen in various hues including acid neon yellow and fluorescent pink dyed furs, leather and sequins along with clean white and peach. It was a collection that anyone could find a color to enjoy and make it their own.

Atelier Versace in the past has not always hosted a collection during Paris Couture Week so when Donatella hosts a fashion show, I am excited to see what she will come up with to assist in evolving the modern, sexy woman’s wardrobe. I believe the fashion world will find inspiration from this collection to bring similar looks for woman at all price points! Keep a look out for acid brights, metallic gold, black pinstripes and anything with sequins!
