Alexander Wang, New Creative Director for Balenciaga

One of the most anticipated fashion shows of the Fall/Winter 2013 season (beginning in February) will be American powerhouse, Alexander Wang‘s debut at the House of Balenciaga. Alexander Wang’s New York self-named line is one of the hottest tickets during New York Fashion Week.  Vogue Magazine in August 2012 featured an article about his 10 years in the fashion industry.

One of the biggest questions to come out since the appointment of Wang is whether, actress and brand ambassador, Kristen Stewart will remain the face of the house’s Florabotanica fragrance.  Some other media sources have reports that Stewart was dropped as the face of the fragrance because Wang is good friends with supermodel, Liberty Ross, who is the wife of Stewart’s Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders.  Check out the E! Online Article and you’ll get be able to connect the dots.

Former Creative Director was Nicolas Ghesquiere who served from 1997-2012. He assisted in the re-emerging the popularity of the brand. His designs were seen as futurist and daring. Take a look of some of his designs during his tenure at the house.
