Francisco Costa must be in love with mohair because it used throughout his Fall/Winter 2014 collection for the Calvin Klein Collection. Oversized coats in black and white were shown with unique safety pin buttons. The laced up high-top sneaker boots were something very unlike the typical Calvin Klein woman but again Costa has surprised the fashion industry before with his previous spring collection full of bright hues.

For the Fall/Winter 2014 season, Costa returned to the roots of the Calvin Klein color palette of black and white. But I was happy to see the usage of warmer hues of olive, navy, orange, red, and brown on a few select looks. It offered women an opportunity to show off a colorful side during the cold and dreary winter days. This was definitely a collection for those that love a mohair coat but also for someone looking to upgrade their old winter coat for something fabulously chic and edgy.

Two of my favorite dresses in the collection were created to look like color blocked rectangular panels featuring white, gray and black on these looks. There is still something about color blocking that helps to bring attention to different parts of the body. Rather it being on a matte jersey gown it’s on a mohair winter dress. It’s a look I think that will remain for a while.
