Sarah Burton presented a spring collection in London where Alexander McQueen started his fashion career. The one thing that you expect from a McQueen collection is tailoring. Burton’s collection for house featured longer jacket with metallic buttons giving a militaristic look to the structured tops. The pants were slim in cut. Shorts were also shown but were at an odd length making it look like the male models were in skirts but again, McQueen has a strong and rich Scottish tradition so it could have been in honor of that.
Overall these looks can taken apart and mixed with jeans and basic tees and polo shirts. The key to understanding the House of McQueen is that you cannot judge the designs at first glance. Take a moment to dissect the looks.
