Alexander Wang is one of fashion biggest stars and has one of the hottest tickets during New York Fashion Week. With his appointment to Balenciaga last fall he is very well in the running to coming the next Marc Jacobs. Last season Wang, created a tribal themed collections that divided the blondes from the brunettes. Each model had a piece of tape down their center parts. The blondes white tape was glow in the dark!

During the Fall 2013 Collection, Wang continued his evolution of his modern, urban woman with the slick ponytail with bright red extensions (no more blonde and brunette!)

Wang’s usage of the color gray came in the darkest hues of charcoal to the lightest gray. Along with shiny metallic sweaters and tops. One thing is that known about Wang is his ability to transform the woman’s wardrobe. His ability to work knitwear into some of the most wanted pieces of the Fall 2013 season makes his clothes fly off the shelves. He also knows his consumer well enough that he’s not making clothes for Barbie dolls, his woman is strong, confident, sophisticated and fearless. She’s a rebel against conformity. I feel that young girls will look at Wang and thank him for not making clothes that will put them in a box that force them to comfort to the idea of “what is pretty!”
His clothes are not only chic but they are also luxurious. It’s not wonder why he will be designing for Balenciaga; I hope he creates a fashion revolution in Paris.. Perhaps Wang is who we need in the fashion industry to reset standards of beauty. Thank goodness for Alexander Wang and his genius!
