Runway to Reality: Balmain

One of my trendiest labels I love to follow is Balmain. It’s one of the most transformation labels in all of Paris. The house formed in 1962 by Pierre Balmain was given a re-branding in 2005 when Christophe Decarnin was named Creative Director. During the six years at Balmain, his clothes became the most desired clothes throughout the global.  One of his designer from the Fall 2009 collection was worn by both Pink and Shakira at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. (Seriously, what fashion red carpet nightwear!)

Another favorite look of mine from Fall 2009 included a short, black long-sleeved, v-neck dress.  This look at Balmain retailed for $13,395.  Not exactly on every fashionista’s budget.  But the trends from this collection is still seen throughout various different fashion labels at all price points.  Remember this dress made it’s debut during Paris Fashion Week in February 2009, 4 years later, this trend is still very popular! Thus why the Balmain look will is so influential!

Check our third and final look with this black, long-sleeved sequined dresses.  The Kensie dress is wonderful alternative to the Balmain look, it has the trend and look of the original runway photo but saves you thousands of dollars!
